Hubble : Our Heavenly View of Space

Hubble was launched at 1990
Telescope - an instrument that can see very far away
Microscope - an instrument that can see very small things
Prefix - 字首, scope has many prefixes
Voyage - 航行
Astronomy - study of star and space
Astrology - mystical aspect; like fortune teller
Astronomer - the person who studies star and space
Orbit - around the earth, the path that is traveling
Vivid - very detail, full with life, colorful, picture that is very detail
Appear three-dimensional - length, height, depth
Iconic - a symbol that represents something specific; something iconic means that it has a lot of meaning for a lot of people
Beamed down - to photograph
Stellar - a. star
Planetary - a. 行星的
Portrait - a. photograph 照片
Throes -having a lot of pain; throes of birth
Stalking - following something or someone
Galaxy - 銀河
Chunk - 相當大的部分
Comet - 彗星
Jupiter - 木星 ; chunk of comet slamming into Jupiter.
Spectacular scene - 壯觀
Grace note - an unnecessarily added touch, usually a little of something that adds beauty
Speck of light - 微小的光
Molecules - particle 分子
Curator - 館長
Stunning imagery - 驚人的影像
Hamper - to make something more difficult, making something slow something down; because of the computer failure this telescope was not as useful or powerful as it was before(it once was)
High-profile - many people know about it
Choreograph - arranged in certain way, carefully arranged
Gyroscope - an instrument that help things to stay balanced
Delicate task - 需要小心處理的工作
Entail - v. 必須, 使承擔 - something that is required, required task, something that involved in the task; what is your job entail? = what is your job requirements? = what is your job responsibilities?
Composition - 構圖
Vastly - 龐大地, 巨大地, 極大地
